The controls for Russian Before You Know It are intuitive and simple to use.

Feature Set:  

Russian Before You Know It is a good fit for anyone looking to boost their Russian vocabulary and increase their writing skills. This program allows you to select a pre-constructed word list which you can then view, learn using the flash card learning modes or learn using other activities.

This program also offers speech recognition that, although not incredibly accurate, does give you a pretty good idea of how well you are doing.

But beyond these few features, this program is very limited in both its capabilities and how much it can help you progress in your Russian language studies.

We had no problems while installing Russian Before You Know It.

Help/Support:  

The help and documentation section of Russian Before You Know It is extremely good. The normal turn-around for an email response from Transparent is around two business days. There is also a toll-free technical support line available, an online FAQs page and a technical support request form you can use to submit questions directly to the manufacturer.

Fundamentals:  

Russian Before You Know It excellent tool for increasing vocabulary and learning the correct pronunciation of Russian words, but it lacks grammar and conversational practice tools.

Effectiveness:  

If acquiring fluency in the Russian language is your goal, this product alone is too limited and simply not the best choice.

Russian Before You Know It is a fine flash card program designed to increase vocabulary and pronunciation. It is also available for use on your Palm device or Pocket PC allowing for constant exposure and reference. But if you're really serious about becoming fluent in the Russian language, this simply can't take you all of the way.
